Being a first generation student has been tough but I have accomplished a lot on my own. I was raised in a diverse community which help me understand a lot about where I come from and help me see and treat everyone the same no matter their looks, backgrounds and beliefs. Academically, I have accomplish a lot from graduating High school from a low income community; to getting accepted into the University of Washington Bothell. Currently, I work in the healthcare field hoping to improve my skills to give providers/nurses an easy access to patients’ informatics.

Work

Unit Coordinator | Seattle Children's Hospital

November 2018 – present

As a Unit Coordinator (UC) I am responsible for providing administrative support and coordination of patient care to ensure maintenance of an organized, family centered patient care environment. While proving excellent customer service, I am responsible for screening visitors and who want to enter/access inpatient units. And last I coordinate daily staffing needs for the inpatient nursing units.

Support Tech | Seattle Children's Hospital (Home Care)

august 2016 – Oct 2018

My duties at Bothell Home Care were to make sure that the pharmacy was clean and ready to go for the next day. It was significant to keep the pharmacy environment clean at all times because technicians are always mixing medication for patients at the main campus and safety was our number one priority.

Education

Health Studies | University of Washington Bothell

August 2016 – Present

On my last year at the University of Washington Bothell. I decided to pursue a degree inside the health care field helping others in need, I have always been amazed by the way hospitals work from the moment a patient walk-in to the moment they get discharge home. My goal is to be part of an origination that will support patients and keep families safe but to be able to do that and have a better understanding, I will need to continue a higher education after I graduate from UWB, I plan on applying for a master program that will focus more on leadership and management skills. I found out that the Health informatics and Health information management (MHIHIM) program at UW will be the right program for me because I will be able to help medical staff by giving them an easy access to health information which will give them more time with patients.
